About Us – BustinOut Skoolie

Hi, we’re Louis and Traci, the couple behind BustinOut Skoolie.

We’ve been married for over 30 years and together for more than 36. When we first started raising our children, Louis dreamed about moving away from the city we grew up in—he’s always been the adventurous one. For me, raising our kids close to family was important, so we made a promise: once our children were grown, we’d go anywhere he wanted.

We never imagined that “anywhere” would turn into everywhere.

Years later, that promise became reality when we purchased a 2003 Blue Bird school bus and began transforming it into our full-time home on wheels. What started as a wild idea turned into a full skoolie conversion and a whole new lifestyle. Today, we travel across the country sharing our journey, our build experience, and the ups and downs of life on the road.

Through our travels, YouTube channel, and community, we hope to inspire others to chase their own dreams—whether that means building a skoolie, traveling more, or simply stepping outside the comfort zone.

We’re learning as we go, meeting incredible people along the way, and proving that it’s never too late to start a new adventure.
